FAQs

Q:

Is Rooted Together an accredited school?

A:

No. Rooted Together is a homeschool resource center focused on helping you add enrichment classes and social activities to your homeschool week. Homeschool credits are given by the parent for any classes taken with RT.

Q:

What kind of classes does Rooted Together offer?

A:

We strive to offer a diverse range of classes for each age group. Our class schedule depends on the availability and teaching interests of our volunteer class leads. In general, our co-op classes are intended primarily as a supplement to your at-home curriculum rather than a complete replacement.

Q:

Are parents required to participate?

A:

Yes. Parents are not required to teach but since parent participation is such an important aspect to a successful resource center, we require parents to get involved in the center by volunteering! Parents must remain on-site while their children are attending classes and supervise their children while not in class.

Q:

What ages does the co-op serve?

A:

We currently are able to welcome families with at least one child who is 7 or older at the time of registration. Their younger siblings are also welcome to register for classes. Children who are not potty trained can tag along with their parent, but cannot register for any class at this time. Unfortunately, due to limited classroom space, we are unable to accept families with children who are all younger than 7.

Q:

How often and when does the co-op meet?

A:

We meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00AM to 2:00PM for two 15-week semesters during the school year, following a typical academic calendar with breaks for holidays. Check out the Home page for a more detailed academic calendar.

Q:

Do we have to attend both days of co-op?

A:

No, families can choose to attend one or both of our co-op days.

Q:

How much does it cost?

A:

There is a $200 annual membership fee per family, which is due at the time of registration. Each class also includes a one-time $15 supply fee. Since learners take two classes per day, the cost works out to $30 per learner for attending once per week or $60 per learner for attending twice per week.

Q:

Where does the co-op meet?

A:

We meet in a church in Kalama, Washington.

Q:

Do I need to abide to your statement of faith?

A:

We are a Christian and inclusive co-op. While we do not require families to accept our beliefs or statement of faith, they must agree to not contradict them while in our co-op environment.

Q:

Do you offer extra social opportunities?

A:

Yes. Rooted Together is a place for homeschool families to build community. We have a built-in lunch and social time during our last hour of co-op each day. Parents also coordinate multiple field trips throughout the year.

If you would like to check out our co-op in a casual social setting, come to our First Fridays at the park!

Q:

What are First Fridays at the park?

A:

Join us on the First Friday of each month for a relaxed park meet-up with our co-op families. This is a great chance to let the kids play, connect with other homeschool parents, and meet some of us if you're curious about the co-op! Check out our Facebook page for details and where we are meeting each month!

Q:

How do I register my children?

A:

Click here. This link will take you to our new family questionnaire. Once completed, a member of our leadership team will reach out to you to answer any questions and give you the next steps.
